VH Lawyers Attend Cruise to View the COSTCO Development
The largest container vessel to call on the East Coast called on the Port of Virginia on May 8, 2017. Firm lawyers Marissa Henderson and Jeanne Noonan were there to see it. They boarded a cruise on the SPIRIT of Norfolk full of spectators applauding the arrival of big ships to the Port of Virginia.
The COSTCO Development is about 1,200 feet long and can carry 13,000 TEUs.
As John F. Reinhart, CEO and executive director of the Virginia Port Authority stated, “For years, we have been talking about the ‘next generation’ of vessels and the ‘big-ship era.’ This is what we have been preparing for: the talk is over, the big ships are here.”1
